Richard Taylor

MRICS, Commercial Director

As a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Richard is Commercial Director for Compass Construction and oversees project tenders, the financial management of the business and cost control. Richard has a degree in Quantity Surveying and is a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) with over 30 years’ experience in the industry, working for many years for a blue-chip property developer, followed by a regional independent house builder before setting up Compass Construction over 15 years ago.

Richard lives in Surrey with his wife Jo, who also works as an administrator for the business. They have 4 children and a dog; love living in the countryside and enjoy walking in the surrey hills whenever they have the opportunity. Richard is also involved in leading a local church and youth group in Dorking.

Steve Cadman

Construction Director

Steve has worked in the construction industry for nearly 40 years, starting as a bricklayer, and working his way up to Project and Construction director before co-founding Compass Construction with Richard in 2009.

Steve oversees all our builds at site level ensuring that the consistency, precision, and high standards they strive for, are met throughout the building process.

Every build presents its challenges, but Steve will always find a way to overcome any of the inevitable design and technical issues that are associated with any scale of building work. Through collaboration and experience, and with a fantastic team of trades behind him, he is proud to have been able to produce so many beautiful homes over the years.

Steve lives in West Sussex with his wife Susie and has two daughters.

When he’s not working, Steve and Susie love nothing more than a long walk with their dogs, Pip and Chester, or a few hours pottering in their garden
